NYC Shopping Scene

A navigational shopping beacon that you?ll need to make the most.

The Break

Located in Brooklyn's infamously charming and much more low-key (when compared to the chaos of Manhattan) Greenpoint neighborhood, "The Break" is run by owners who wholeheartedly believe in the tremendous power of a well-curated clothing haul that doesn't break a shopper's bank in the process. Besides their impressive clothing collection, they've even been known to provide customers with tasty beverages to further elevate the shopping experience.

Canal Street Market

Located in Soho, Canal Street Market is brimming with iconic downtown-cool clothing, jewelry, and art from numerous vendors, all from within a sprawling indoor bazaar that is conveniently located between Chelsea Market and Artists & Fleas. There are plenty of tasty food options too for when all the shopping has piqued your appetite.

The Sill

With more and more studies surfacing that provide further proof that plants are quite literally an all-natural, mindfulness-oriented way to promote happiness in one's life, a plant store like that of The Sill is more relevant than ever in terms of being a must-see shopping destination. The store puts its focus on providing plants that don't require too much attention, with stand-alone plants that can be bought at as low as $4, and then pre-potted plants that can sometimes sell for $38.

Spark Pretty

Spark Pretty has an established reputation in New York City's East Village for making the task of fully expressing yourself in spite of cold weather easier than ever. Spark Pretty presents its aesthetic as being a bit more '80s hair band mixed with '70s glam rock kind of fashion theme. Their Lisa Frank denim jackets that are on sale are in particularly high demand these days. In general, though, you'll have no trouble finding your pick of stylish bellbottoms, studded-out skinny jeans, and pins to further enhance your wardrobe as you go exploring around the city.

Strand Bookstore

There's no denying it: Strand Bookstore is simply, undeniably, iconic. The Strand Bookstore has had its home in New York City since 1927 and houses just under 3 million books. So, you won't have any trouble finding a new literary gem for yourself and any other reading-savvy loved ones. Strand Bookstore doesn't exclusively sell books to its flocks of excited customers either. You can also find your share of fun and silly gifts that include great merchandise, high-quality tote bags (for carrying all your new books), and mugs with various funny and witty slogans on them.
