Ready to kick off your adventure in Denver? Ease your way into the Mile High City: it's easier than you think to get to Denver-whether flying in across the country or cruising down the highway. So, let's break down the best ways to reach Denver.
By Air
If you cannot make it any other way, flying in is a possiblity into Denver International Airport. DEN represents an iconic, tent-like roof with sprawling facilities, making it one of the busiest airports in the country. With any luck, you should find a convenient flight, possibly direct, from major cities basically anywhere in the world. Once arrived, downtown Denver is pretty easy to get to. You can take the A Line Light Rail from the airport all the way downtown to Union Station in about 30 minutes. Prefer to go a bit more privately? Ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft are easily available to bring you downtown, or head outside the terminal and catch a taxi.
By Car
If you are road-tripping to Denver, then get ready for some breathtaking scenery! The major highways-I-70, I-25, and I-76-make driving to the city pretty easy. Expect breathtaking views as you approach the Rocky Mountains. Just keep in mind that there can be a little heavier traffic during peak hours, such as at weekends or holidays. Once here, a car is convenient for visiting nearby attractions, but first familiarize yourself with the parking regulations in the city to avoid those surprise tickets.
By Bus or Train
You could take Greyhound or Megabus for cheaper trips into Denver. These services will take you into the city from many different locations and many times for a fraction of the cost of flying. Coming from relatively close cities, the Amtrak train is another great option. The California Zephyr line takes you right into Denver Union Station, a very scenic and relaxing way to arrive.
Ride-Sharing and Car Rentals
When you touch down, getting around becomes pretty easy. If you like your space, grab a car rental either at the airport or from one of the many rental agencies around town. Otherwise, ride-sharing apps such as Uber and Lyft are extremely popular in Denver, and you'll be able to get to where you're going free from the hassle of parking.
