The most popular way to get into Chicago is to fly into one of its major airports:

O'Hare International Airport (ORD)—located about 17 miles from the city center—is among the world's busiest airports and one of the largest domestic and international hubs. With many airlines flying in and out many times a day, there will probably be a route that works for you.

Midway International Airport (MDW): About 10 miles from the city center, Midway is another good choice for domestic fliers and represents an easier experience compared to O'Hare. The airport is well-connected to the city via the Orange Line of the Chicago Transit Authority.

Getting to the Loop: Both airports have easy public transportation to reach the city. You can take the Blue Line train from O'Hare to the city center and the Orange Line from Midway. Taxis and ride-sharing services are easily available at both airports.

By Train

The best and most scenic way to arrive in Chicago would be by train.

Amtrak: Union Station in Chicago is one of the main nerves of Amtrak, covering almost every part of the country. Whether you're coming from the East Coast, the West Coast, or the Middle, Amtrak provides a comfortable and really nice ride into the city.

Getting to the Downtown: Union Station is located in the center of Chicago so you will be right in the mix upon arrival. You can walk, take a taxi, or hop on a CTA bus or train from here to get wherever you need to go.

By Bus

Various bus companies make for some cheap ways to get to Chicago:

Greyhound: Since it has the largest network, Greyhound provides service to Chicago from most of the major cities across the U.S. The Greyhound Station is located in downtown Chicago and offers easy, inexpensive access.
